Golden Triangle at Carrie D's house party!

We played at Carrie D's house party last night. The theme was that you had to dress as your animal spirit. I was gonna be a glow worm,but I couldn't get it together in time, so I dressed as a Pterodactyl but people kept mistaking me for Batman. When I was walking home from dropping off equipment, people kept stopping me to take pictures, or ask for directions, or just comment on my crime-fighting- I actually jogged the whole way home so my cape would flap in the wind because it seemed more heroic looking. Theme Party dressed as a skunk, I think. Cammy was a velociraptor, Reggie Recess was some kind of bird, and Sodapop was a monkey. TraLaLa , I had no idea what she was. Jonathan dj'ed all animal-related songs. I didn't know there was so many dances named after animals. I gotta make up a new move so I can name it the penguin. One random thing about the night was that the singer Alex from Franz Ferdinand was at the party... what the heck was he doing in Greenpoint? I don't know how he got there but that's cool. He couldn't hear what the heck we were singing through the shitty PA, but he still said it was a fun show. He told me they have lots of warehouse kind of parties out in Glasgow where we can play, so that's aight with me.

Marmaladies in action at Animal Train Party!

In case you didn't know, Theme Party and Reggie Recess- our twins of death singing/tambo combo- moonlight as the famous dancing duo called Marmaladies. The 4th panel down is a picture of them dancing for Kid Congo Powers when he played at the Bastille Day Party thrown by New York Night Train's Jonanthan Toubin- a man about town with many nice outfits and wigs The amazing picture taken by Veronica Ibarra- check out her Myspace for more pix by her. The top 3 pix are from the Animal Train Factory party where the theme obviously was Andy Warhol's Factory. The legendary Genesis P. Orridge, pictured above, dj'ed with Jonathan (as Andy Warhol for the night) on this night. We drove straight from Atlanta to Brooklyn for 13 hours to get to this party and the party was worth it cuz shit got crazy.

This was a fun show Knyfe Hyts who is Zack, Shahin, and Shah from Ex Models playing love songs, Robot Death Cult is Eric Z and Rachel from Secret Project Robot, and Black Horse is our friends April and Aaron who just moved here recently.

These are pix from our show at the Silent Barn show with Black Lips, Turbo Fruits, the Coathangers, and Golden Triangle. They were taken by this crazy dude named Goergia Teel and jonathan and Lord Zurp. There's more rad pix of all the bands from their respective Flickr sites here and here . Allison is rocking out in the audience while Turbo Fruits in playing. The other photo is our homie Derek Awesome Color shredding with Turbo Fruits in a guest cameo appearance. You also see Reggie Recess and TraLaLa in action. Coathangers were pretty cool. They are blowing up right now in ATL and beyond so check those chicks out in a town near you

Atlanta trip

We just got back from Atlanta. We went there to record with our pal Dave from Carbonas and also see Black Lips /Subsonics at the Clermont Lounge which is a notorious strip club that rarely has shows - let alone 2 of the craziest bands in the ATL, the legendary Subsonics + the Black Lips! We also had a show at the Drunken Unicorn. Jared and Kristen were real nice to let us crash a couple nights at their pad. When we got there Travis was at the house and he let us listen to some recordings that Dave did the night before for the Gaye Blades (Jared's other band when he's not globe trottin' with Black Lips) and the songs sounded awesome - they weren't even mixed yet and it sounded cool! Needless to say, we were looking forward to our recording session with Dave later that night. We at at El Myr and Eats , and had a real fun time in the ATL. the Clermont was a crazy ass show but it was like 120 degress up in there. I even met Webster at Eats- that dude still looks like he's 12 . hell to the yeah. me and reggie battled some local hip hop dudes in a circle at MJQ after we played next door at the Unicorn. we fucked those dudes up. the best coffee we ever had was at Aurora where Tommy works- Tommy is in the Selmanaires which is a good band about to tour so catch em if you can- and I also met Bradford Cox who is the amazing singer from Deerhunter. He's also an amazing artist who designs album art for most of the good bands from ATL

Bloody weekend

Last weekend at the Union Pool show, Tra la la's knee got busted open and I got bit in the neck ruining/bloodeying the sweet skateboard shirt Mike Pare gave me for free. This week our show at the Rubulad party was insane. Reggie Rambler and Theme Party dressed as clowns, Sodapop had a turbin, and Cammy dressed as a Shake N Bake chicken and me, a mummy bat out of hell. Cammy and Sodapop had a whole pot brownie and all you need is a bite to get really wasted- them rubulad browniees are potent. Tra la la had absynthe and we all had bad vodka and whiskey so it added up to us all playing diferent songs the whole time, but i guess it didn't really matter because people get crazy at Rubulad as long as there's noise filling their ear drums .A lot of insanity had a lot to do with crazy Raul and Awesome Color Allison getting everyone riled up too. Our friends Maya Hayuk and Andrew Deitch were frying there brains out and she took photos- i 'll try to acquire those soon. My buddy Zack of Ex Models took a bunch of photos at our show at Rubulad. Sodapop and Cammy each ate a whole pot brownie which are known to be the super most potent brownies in the Eastern seaboard- in fact they were both still super high the next day at 5pm 20 hours later. Mighty Robot AV Squad AKA Eric Z and Brock and Arthur and Zack did some crazy visuals as usual. Awesome Color Allisson and Chris Millstein started up a mosh pit too which was rad. you can see more pix at Zack's Flickr site Later I went downstairs to look for DJ Small Change so I we could get paid when a blonde white guy with dreads started clowning me and blocking my walking path on the dance floor- he chose the wrong guy to mess with on the dance floor. I started dancing my ass off and popping and locking and breaking shit down till that fool walked away. I wasn't gonna lose a battle dance to some hippy from Burning Man. Anyways I finally found dude and we got paid and split! from OJ
