Death of Live Fast Die Party + free Colt 45

These are some pix from Live Fast Die's last show ever at Rock Star Bar. AK Faoro and Todd Fisher took these photos. It was a free show and they gave away free Colt 45 in small 4 oz. bottles. A couple days later , here's some pix at the Black Lips' free show at East River Park. Alix, Jay High, Vashti, and Po'Jay DJ'ed in between the bands - but the day ended when a crazy ass storm came out of nowhere and poured out lightning, rain, and hail forcing everyone to evacuate. At least Black Lips got to play- Jared got to walk on people's heads while he played bass and the crowd broke down the barrier and bumrushed the stage, so people had fun before the storm came- plus more importantly we had BBQ and beer all day.

GZA + Black Lips + Golden Triangle + 10,000 bucks

We had about 12 shows at SXSW with lots of rad bands including Christmas Island, Intelligence, Box Elders, King Khan and the Shrines, Homosexuals, Soft Pack, Crystal Stilts, and tons more, but the show that made us money was the Dickies battle at the Compound. 8 bands enter- 1 band leave! We won 1st place and the $10,000! RAD!! GZA, Brooklyn Vegan, and No Age were the judges. After they gave us the big check, GZA did a surprise set with Black Lips as the back up band!! Alix and Carly jumped onstage and became backup dancers

Kemado/Mexican Summer 12" sold out + a video from Ghost Town Gallery, Oakland

Sorry, charlie, the Kemado/Mexican Summer 12" is sold out. We do have a few that we're taking with us on the road, though. Here's a video from our show in Oakland with XBXRX and Snake Flower on the tour with Quintron and Miss Pussycat. Weasel Walter kicked his cymbals at the end of their set, and it sliced Vice Cooler's face open, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, but he turned out fine.

Daily tour updates at Vice Magazine + Jello Biafra and Don Bolles

Go to the Vice blog for daily updates on our tour with Quintron and Miss Pussycat
Vice magazine.

Don Bolles and Jello Biafra and Uma Thurman have joined the Golden Triad secret society. I asked Don what what was in his little lunch box, and he opened it for me to reveal cd's, a Mossimo wallet, a pipe sans weed, and a tube of denture glue.

Cannibal Zombie ritual at Passerby

Joly who does Punkcast just posted these videos of a cannibal zombie ritual that Micki Pellerano performed before our show at Passerby- we provided the musical score. Tra La La was still our bass player before little Alix Brown joined. This was right before Tra La La disappeared during a show at Don Pedro's where someone tried to strangle her with a mic cord while we were playing, and we didn't see her for over a year. Rumor was she almost severed 3 fingers and then left town.

Live at Secret Project Robot then Santo's Party House/ Golden Triangle+ExModels+Oneida+Vivian Girls, etc.

This is the end of our set at the Monster Island Block Party- the first video was taken by Margarita Jimeno. My amp broke halfway through the set, and Alix's bass broke right before this song, so you can't see either of us because we are just dancing lost in the crowd at this point. The Monster Island Block Party became an indoor building party due to Hurricane Hannah, but it was still fun times. The second video, at the bottom after all the pictures, was taken by Maya Hayuk. Maya's video may be the first footage ever in the history of video of someone doing a "centipede" on top of a crowd. You see B-boys doing that move all the time on the floor, but never on top of a crowd of people. Doing the centipede on the floor ain't shit. Micki did a zombie ritual and Raul and his blue gang did a performance as well, and all the bands were good- Oneida did a live recording for a Social Registry record; Ex Models slayed in the yoga studio; the internet world is completely freaking out lately over the Vivian Girls who brought their sing-along indie twee pop; K-Holes, Temptations (Rahdunes members), Red Dawn II played 3 sets on a secret stage; and a surprise set by Awesome Color ended the night. 2 days later we played at Santo's Party House with ARE Weapons.

Golden Triangle finale

Maya took this shorty video of us at the Monster Island Block Party. Watch out for the centipede on top of the crowd!!

K-Holes + King Khan and BBQ Show + Red Dawn2 = Crypt Records 25th Anniversary Party!

These are pix from the Crypt Records 25th Anniversary at Santo's Party House brought to us by Jonathan "gone tubin'" Toubin. K-Holes (Jack and Julie Hines + Andrew McNey + Cammy and Vashti) and Red Dawn 2 (Wolfy and Awesome Allison) opened up the party for King Khan and BBQ. It was also Kristin Klein's birthday party. Jessica blew fire out of her ass during King Khan's set which is something I don't see ever day. And it wasn't one of those little fart-with-a-lighter wimpy flames- it was a full on giant flame throw ass blast.

Prehistoric Party

Lots of folks get involved with these Animal Train parties at Glasslands. These are just a few pix from the Prehistoric Party put together by New York Night Train, Special FX by Mighty Robot AV Squad, sets and props by Live With Animals, caveman tunes by Caveman Jonathan and Josh Styles, and Pterodactyl contributed a live set. The girls in the band did some prehistoric go go-go dancing as their alter ego, the Marmaladies. Micki P. did a performance with a special appearance by Tom from the Tulips, Rick Terquoi, Punk Rock Sean from Cult of Youth, and McNey. Also according to the pictures, it looks like the Inspector Strawberry Sodapop invented a new dance, but as of now it has no name yet.

Jay Reatard + Golden Triangle at Bowery Ballroom

Here's some pix from our show at Bowery Ballroom with Jay Reatard. Carly threw a pizza at Jay while they were playing, but he just picked it up and ate it. Then just threw the crust into the crowd- he didn't get crazy or anything like he did in Toronto. Billy, the drummer, was wearing a Boo Berry shirt, my favorite cereal ever. Boo Berry kicks Count Chocula's ass anytime

Deerhunter + Knyfe Hyts + Golden Triangle + AIDS Wolf + Rings @ Market Hotel

Here's a few pix from our show at the Market Hotel with Deerhunter and Knyfe Hyts. It was rad seeing our soldiers, Nathan Whipple, Mikki, Raul, and Jack and Julie show up early for us and tear shit up on the dance floor as usual, rolling around and flinging flour at everyone- you know how they do. The Knyfe Hyts set was awesome as usual, but even got more awesome when our New Orleans bud, MC Trachiotomy, jumped onstage and did some emceeing over "Smoke the Milk." Deerhunter played their whole new album which sounded rad. The first 6 high quality pictures were shot by Drew Katchen, and I actually stole them from him and his site. Thanks for the heads up, Mookie, and thanks for stealing 'em for me. Anytime you see nice high quality pix here, you know I stole that stuff from someone else's website. My camera sucks and/or I am a bad photographer.

Cheap & Plastique pix by Marti Domination and Violet

These pix were from Saturday's Cheap & Plastique Issue Release Show with SSSSpectres and Ana Lola Roman. The first 9 pix were taken by Violet who is the creator of Cheap & Plastique Magazine, and was very nice to invite us to play this party. The rest were taken by Marti Domination who has an interesting background- she plays Goodyear in Matthew Barney's "Cremaster I" and Jack the Ripper. She was also part of the legendary Blacklips Performance Cult which was a group founded in the early 90's by Antony from Antony and the Johnsons. They performed a series of bizarre plays at the old Pyramid on Ave. A back in the day when it was abandoned. She also sings for Beaut.

Black Lips + Quintron and Miss Pussycat + Golden Triangle 2 shows

Here's some pix from our shows with Black Lips and Quintron and Miss Pussycat at Bowery Ballroom and Music Hall of W'burg AKA North 666 (RIP) - the first 11 pix I got from Hollow Sidewalks Flickr. The rest I took before my crappy camera ran out of juice. Some pix were from the after party at Motorcity, after the Bowery show. It was real cool seeing all our homies at Motorcity like Sparks and Bill Karren. Bill is a funny dude- all night he was complementing everyone on their eyebrows. Then he hopped in a cab with us and then, when we got to Brooklyn, hopped out at a random intersection- leaving us with the fare! He's also the craziest heckler I know at rock shows. He not only heckles bands, but he'll jump onstage and grab the mike and start talking shit about the band into the mike- in the middle of that band's set! Or he'll tell the band (onstage into one of the microphones) that the set's too long and to stop playing already-- sometimes in the middle of a song. Then get kicked out by the club, but talk his way back in by claiming he's Polish (This happened at Club Europa in the Polish hood of Greenpoint)-- One dude was like, "I don't care if he was in Bikini Kill, I'll kick his ass!!!" In the end they became pals anyways because you just can't get mad at a funny guy like Bill.

Valentine's Day Bash photos by Maya Hayuk

This was a return to NYC show we had with Knyfe Hyts and Robot Deth Cult. Mr. Cupcakes didn't have fun though, so he took a shit on the dance floor.
